Garneratal to the Tübinger Hut

MTB tour into the untouched Garneratal in the Montafon Mountains

From Gaschurn to the Tübinger Hut with a fairly long ascent on gravel (max. 15% gradient) into the romantic and lonely Garneratal to the end of the valley below the border with Switzerland.

By mountain bike to the Garneratal in Vorarlberg

From your bike hotel in Montafon, ride to the other end of Gaschurn towards the Versettla Bahn I valley station.

From there, the route continues steadily uphill on the Bergerstraße, gravelled and winding (towards Versettla, towards Gundalatschenberg). Stamina and strength are required here, with a maximum gradient of 15%. From the Versettlabahn middle station, continue southwards with a descent of approximately 100 metres.

Leave the Alpe Lifinar on your right. From the valley floor, ride southwards through the secluded Garneratal, passing the Garneraalpe (1675 m) on your right. At the end of the valley, the trail ends at the Tübinger Hut's equipment lift (1960 m). You can park your bike here if you want to hike up to the Tübinger Hut. The view is fantastic! The return route follows the same route downhill, with a 100 m climb via the Versettla middle station to the Explorer Hotel Montafon in Gaschurn.
