There's a myth that you're not allowed to open the windows in a passive house. Let's get this straight: Yes, you can, but you don't HAVE to.😎
Because the cool thing is, in a passive house, you don't have to open the windows to remove the humidity in the room through air exchange. Air exchange in Explorer Hotels occurs evenly and silently. This means that Explorer Hotels don't need air conditioning, saving energy again.
If you still need to let fresh air into the room, for example, after a shower, it's more effective to open the windows wide for a short time than to leave them ajar for a longer period. This guarantees a quick exchange of air without overly compromising the house's thermal balance. 😉
By the way, all windows are triple-glazed to prevent heat from entering in the summer and cold from entering in the winter. Cool, right?
