The Hahnenkamm Race starts at the start house at an altitude of 1,665 meters. Absolute silence reigns here, as every ski racer knows what challenges await them in the next moment. The starting slope has a gradient of 51%, and after just a few seconds, the racers reach the famous mousetrap. This is where the first and longest jump takes place. The racers fly up to 80 meters on the steepest section of the Streif, with an 85 percent gradient. Here, speeds rise to 110 to 120 kilometers per hour (km/h).
