You can get there and back to Windischgarsten in Hinterstoder by public transport. Take the chairlift up to the Wurbauerkogel. Once at the top, you can choose from the following:

Day 5: Kalkalpen National Park
The Explorer Hotel Hinterstoder is located near the Kalkalpen National Park. This is the largest forest region in Central Europe. The Pießling spring in Roßleithen is also located within this national park. Want to combine this vacation with a bit of culture? How about a trip to the Alpineum? Here, the development from a mountain farming village to one of the leading winter sports resorts is demonstrated.

Whether you're a beginner or advanced, everyone gets their share of action here! You can choose between different routes: For beginners and those looking for flow, there are easy trails to get started, and experts can let off steam on challenging routes with various features.
Day 7: Whitewater Rafting
You can experience plenty of action around the Explorer Hotel Hinterstoder. Whitewater rafting is available with Salza Pro-Adventures from Vorderstoder.

Holiday day no. 1 - Exploring Hinterstoder
After your arrival, it's a good idea to explore the town a bit with a short walk. How about a detour to Austria's most beautiful spot? Perhaps you already know this place from many #ExplorerMoments? From the Explorer Hotel Hinterstoder, you can reach the Schiederweiher after a short hike (about 40 minutes). Perfect for stretching your legs after a car ride, right? ;)
Holiday day no. 2 - Hiking tour to the Höss
It starts at the Explorer Hotel. This tour takes you from Hinterstoder to the Prielschutzhaus at 1,420 meters. Your calves might complain, but it's worth it for the fantastic view of the Großer Priel ;). There are also some climbing opportunities and delicious refreshments here.
Holiday Day No. 3 - Dr. Vogelgesang Gorge
A gorge with a doctorate – something like that only exists in Hinterstoder ;-) The gorge was named after Moritz Vogelgesang, a doctor from Spital am Pyhrn. Since he was partly responsible for making the gorge accessible, it bears his name.
This is a wildly romantic rocky gorge that is definitely worth a visit.
