The Explorer Hotel Sporting Team has successfully completed its first sporting event! At the RadRace 120 in the Allgäu region, the cyclists covered 120 kilometers and over 2,000 meters of elevation gain – with full commitment and plenty of energy!
That was the RadRace 120!!!
Raceday
The starting gun fired at 6:45 a.m. in drizzle in Sonthofen. For the first two hours, the six riders of the Explorer Hotels Sporting Team battled the weather. But then, suddenly – sunshine! The first few meters of elevation had been conquered, and they were off to the Riedberg Pass – the ultimate challenge of the race.
With gradients of up to 16%, the course made the riders sweat and pushed some to their limits. But the team didn't let that discourage them and bravely fought their way to the top!
But the race wasn't over yet – three tough ramps still awaited the team. They mastered these challenges too and successfully rolled to the finish line.
The route 💥
The RadRace 120 in the Allgäu region is a true challenge for all cycling enthusiasts! The route stretches over 120 kilometers and, with more than 2,000 meters of elevation gain, is truly challenging. It leads through breathtaking landscapes, past green meadows, dense forests, and charming villages. The Allgäu Alps offer spectacular panoramas that make every climb and descent unforgettable. The steep climbs and rapid descents are particularly challenging, putting the riders' endurance and technique to the test.

The La Macchina Fabian competes in the Olympic distance
It starts with a 1.5-kilometer swim in the fresh waters of the Großer Alpsee. This is followed by a 40-kilometer bike ride through the Allgäu region, with a few challenging climbs. Finally, it's the 10-kilometer run. Are you training hard yet, Fabian?
The chick Franzi will be competing in the sprint for the first time this year!
In this compact and intense discipline, participants must give their all. It starts with a refreshing 500-meter swim. Then it's off to the 20-kilometer bike course, and finally, a 5-kilometer run awaits. We're keeping our fingers crossed for you, Franzi!
