King Ludwig's fairytale castles were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the beginning of July!
And we think this is entirely justified, as the architecture and flair of the castles are unique! Neuschwanstein Castle stands for its unique location and impressive architectural style.
Linderhof Castle was King Ludwig's favorite castle, built with attention to detail.
Of course, you should definitely visit Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Castle.
You can easily combine a visit to these two fairytale castles with a hike.
Tour to Neuschwanstein Castle
If you're an experienced hiker and love action, then this tour is definitely for you!
You start at the Explorer Hotel Nesselwang, via Pfronten to the Lechfall, and then up to the castle!
A very beautiful, long tour for which you should plan between 7 and 9 hours.
If you just want to take a short trip:
Start with public transport or your car. Your first destination is the parking lot in Hohenschwangau, from where you can take a short walk to Neuschwanstein Castle.
Tour to Linderhof Castle
For a visit to Linderhof Castle, it's best to drive to the castle parking lot. Reaching the castle on foot is a bit difficult.
After visiting the castle, you can enjoy a wonderful hike. The valley hike through the Linder Valley to Ettal Monastery is ideal for this.
A highlight that everyone should experience at least once.
After a good warm-up, we started with the technique. Here we practiced different braking techniques and covered the first few meters.
PS: I thought skating would have at least some similarities to skiing, but that wasn't the case! Only when braking do you have a slight advantage as a skier. 😉
