Fancy a ski tour off-piste? Then follow ski guide Flo to the Falkert!
The tour starts at the Falkertsee. You can get here either with the Nockmobile, which you can simply call in advance, or you can drive the 15 minutes to the Falkertsee yourself. There is plenty of parking there.
Let's go! At the beginning, you will pass a ski touring trail. Here you can check your avalanche transceiver again and see the current avalanche warning level. It is important that you are familiar with your avalanche transceiver and have the necessary prior knowledge for a tour in the backcountry!
The tour to the Falkert has a total elevation gain of 500 meters, but you can also extend it by starting directly down in the valley. This allows you to add another 800 meters of elevation gain, resulting in a pretty challenging ski tour.
The tour leads up to the summit via the Sonntagstal valley. If the avalanche warning level is high, it's recommended to keep a safe distance. Once at the summit, you'll have a wonderful panoramic view, including a view of the valley and the Falkertsee lake.
After removing your skins and changing, you'll head back through the Sonntagstal valley to the Falkertsee lake. Depending on the snow conditions, you can have a lot of fun and make some great turns here!
