Sustainability on the road to success - Sustainable overnight stays at Explorer Hotels

(Farchant) On October 1st, the 10th Explorer Hotel in Farchant opens its doors to environmentally conscious and active vacationers who can indulge in all-season activities – skiing, biking, or trail running. Always in view: the Zugspitze and Alpspitze. Just a few kilometers from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, 100 stylish rooms await sporty visitors, both with and without children. A workbench for preparing sports equipment, ample storage space, and lockers for your equipment are just as much a given here as respect for nature.

Solar and photovoltaic systems maximize energy generation. The result: zero CO2 in the energy balance. Even greater attention was paid to appropriate components during the construction of the Explorer Hotel Garmisch: In addition to the carpet made from recycled fishing nets and PET bottles, floor and wall tiles are used whose production is particularly resource-efficient and the materials are environmentally friendly. The hotel is committed to sustainable management in harmony with natural resources and regional products.

A special highlight are the hotel's own bike and trail running camps, where professional athletes share their theoretical and practical knowledge. Perfectly geared for athletes, bikers will find a wash area right outside the hotel and a workbench for tinkering and preparing their equipment in the Explorer Lounge. The success story of the group, which was awarded the German Tourism Award in 2013 and is ISO-certified for its quality and environmental management, has many reasons, including a sense of timing.
