Reduced infrastructure means consciously omitting certain elements in building design. This reduction takes environmental, economic, regional, and social considerations into account, thus promoting sustainability. With a conscious focus on our athletically active guests, some features have also been deliberately omitted at Explorer Hotels to conserve resources and support the local economy. ⛰️

Reduced infrastructure at Explorer Hotels: Sustainability for the environment & region
By avoiding large pools, we were able to reduce the space used during construction. But that wasn't the main reason. You guessed it, it's about water consumption. Because water is liquid gold for us, and we have a responsibility to treat it with the appropriate care.
Water consumption becomes clear when you look at a single fill of an average swimming pool: 10m x 7m x 1.5m = 105m³ (volume in cubic meters). One cubic meter corresponds to one thousand liters of water. So: 105 × 1000 = 105,000 liters of water.
In addition to water consumption, there are also energy costs for cleaning, air conditioning the pool area, and lighting....
Explorer Hotels are located in many locations in the Alps, and for good reason. We love the culture and traditions of these regions and wanted to share this with our guests from the very beginning.
We deliberately decided not to have a restaurant in the hotel so that our guests also have the opportunity to get to know the holiday destination and strengthen the local economy.

To ensure that our promise doesn't fall flat but also has an impact for the future, we operate a secure quality management system. Explorer Hotels has been certified according to DIN ISO 9001 (quality management) and DIN ISO 14001 (environmental management) since 2011. Our processes are documented and standardized through checklists and manuals, such as those on waste prevention. Employee workshops also contribute to quality assurance.
Our hotel infrastructure is reduced to precisely those things that are truly important to our sporty guests. Simple and sustainable, in other words! - We care!
