What exactly is special about an electric car?

So, as the name suggests, an electric car is powered by electricity 🤓. This electricity comes from a battery built into the vehicle. In the electric motor, the electrical energy is converted into mechanical energy by generating magnetic fields. The magnetic fields either attract or repel each other, creating a force. Advantages of an electric car
- Quiet driving: Electric cars are almost silent, especially at lower speeds.
- Low maintenance requirements: Electric cars have fewer moving parts that could break. Wear parts such as the gearbox, alternator, timing belt, V-belt, and manual transmission are also not installed in these vehicles.
- Cheers to fresh air: An electric car does not emit any exhaust gases when in operation. This is a positive advantage for electric cars, especially on busy roads.
Did you know?
- The first electric car was presented to the public by the Frenchman Gustave Trouvé in 1881. It had a top speed of 12 km/h and a powerful 6 hp.
- With a battery capacity of 64 kWh, an electric car can travel almost 400 km without recharging. The Audi A2 has already set a record of 600 km :)
- Electric car batteries last a long time, but not forever, and need to be replaced every 10 years.
