Sport Spa at Explorer Hotels: Real relaxation for tired muscles
Martina from Sporthomed will show you the Sport Spa with sauna, steam bath, and infrared cabin at the Explorer Hotel Neuschwanstein today. Together with Marion from the mountain bike racing team, she will introduce you to active and passive regeneration consisting of yoga and relaxation.
Let's start with active regeneration. This consists primarily of yoga exercises, for which you only need a mat and no other exercise equipment. You can do these exercises anywhere and only need your own body. They primarily mobilize the muscles and spine, which have been heavily stressed after an active outdoor day. It's important to stretch regularly, ideally after every training session, and don't forget to repeat the exercises several times.
Proper muscle relaxation is essential after training, but passive regeneration is also welcome. The Sport Spa in all Explorer Hotels, with its sauna, steam bath, and infrared cabin, offers the perfect opportunity for regenerative relaxation.
The infrared cabin uses infrared rays, which achieve a gentle warming effect at 30-50 degrees Celsius. Nevertheless, the body sweats slightly and relaxes the muscles. A visit to the infrared cabin also strengthens the immune system and is ideal for pain management. Simply sit with your spine in front of the heater and relax for 30 minutes.
The steam bath also operates at low temperatures of around 45 degrees Celsius and has a humidity of 100%. This is especially helpful in moisturizing the mucous membranes in winter when the air is dry and strengthens the immune system. The intense sweating transports toxins to the outside and then rinses them off with a subsequent shower. Simply sit in the steam bath for 10-20 minutes and then move around the relaxation room to cool down. Afterward, shower yourself with cold water from bottom to top and treat yourself to some rest.
The Finnish sauna at the Explorer Hotel in Nesselwang typically operates at very high temperatures between 80 and 100 degrees Celsius. Thanks to various infusions, essential oils can be used, which not only relaxes the muscles. Your sauna session should last approximately 8-15 minutes and can be supplemented with infusions as desired. Afterward, rinse with cold water from bottom to top and rest. This process can be repeated three times.
Please be sure to shower before using the sauna, steam bath, and infrared cabin and use a towel when using them. You should also be in good health and always drink plenty of water.
The Sport Spa at the Explorer Hotels offers all active athletes the perfect regeneration and relaxation for their muscles. So come and see for yourself on your next vacation at one of the nine Explorer Hotels in Germany and Austria.
