There are so many things to do, like buying presents or baking cookies, and your workload also increases just before the end of the fiscal year. We've put together a few tips to help you navigate the pre-Christmas period with ease! This will help you stay relaxed and alert!
6 tips for a stress-free Christmas season
#1 Set priorities
Prioritize your to-do list and set deadlines! Tackle the most important and urgent things first. Which things are important, but can wait? And which things are nice if you manage to do them in time, but aren't a problem if you don't? This way, you can easily work through your list and avoid forgetting anything.
#2 Let go of perfectionism
Stress is primarily a mental issue. Symptoms like fatigue and headaches tend to set in. You should lower your expectations of yourself, family members, and colleagues a bit, because not everything has to be perfect. You don't have to buy everyone a present, and you don't have to cook the best holiday meal in the world. Nobody is perfect!
#3 Stay calm
Advent is supposed to be cozy, isn't it? So, light a few candles and slow down, because in calm lies strength – even Confucius knew that! Rushing around doesn't help anyone, so treat yourself to a little "me-time," schedule some relaxing breaks, and enjoy a cozy cup of tea.
#4 Digital Detox
Yes, smartphones make communication easier, but social media and other apps can quickly become time-wasters. The pre-Christmas period is ideal for simply going offline. This gives you more time to tick off your to-do list. Emails shouldn't be checked after work either. You can't call the fire department via email, so it can't be that bad if you don't read the message until tomorrow. ;)
#5 Say no sometimes!
