Germany's highest panoramic road: Rossfeld Panorama Road in Berchtesgaden
Whether by car, motorcycle, or bike: the 15.4 km long, winding Rossfeld Panorama Road is accessible year-round. Remember to bring some money, as there is a toll.
At the summit of the panoramic road, you'll find several parking spaces from which you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Berchtesgaden Alps. On a clear day, you'll get a fantastic view of Berchtesgaden and Salzburger Land, the Kehlstein, the Watzmann, the Hoher Göll, and the Dachstein Mountains.
The Rossfeld Panorama Road is also the starting point for many worthwhile hikes and, in winter, one of the most snow-sure ski areas in the area. Here, three drag lifts and two practice lifts provide access to the ski area with a 6km descent to Oberau.
And some more information to go:
- Maximum gradient: 13%
- 14 bridges
- Approximately 1,100m elevation difference
- Cease at 1,570m
