150-meter-deep gorges, enormous chunks of ice, bridges, winding paths, and countless waterfalls... The Höllenklamm near Garmisch-Partenkirchen is definitely one of the places you must visit during your stay at the Explorer Hotel Garmisch.
The 1.5 km long hiking trail through the Höllenklamm starts at the Hammersbach hiking car park and takes about 45 minutes. You hike over footbridges, rock steps, and through illuminated tunnels. The hiking trail through the Höllenklamm is well-developed, but only accessible during the snow-free season. Tip: You can also continue along the trail to the Höllentalangerhütte, which is open to the public. After a delicious snack, you can alternatively return from the Höllentalangerhütte via the Stangensteig trail (approx. 2 hours).
When visiting the Höllental Gorge, be sure to bring warmer clothing and a rain jacket. Non-slip shoes are also a plus for your visit to the gorge ;)
Please also remember to check the current entrance fees in advance.
