At the Explorer Hotels Ski Touring Camp, our experienced freeride guide will take you along and teach you not only ski touring but also the proper use of safety equipment.

Requirements

  • You're confident on the slopes.
  • You've already made your first attempts in unprepared terrain.
  • You're fit enough to tackle smaller climbs (around 500m elevation gain).

Most importantly: You enjoy skiing!

  • Skiing technique: You're confident on the slopes and have some experience skiing off-piste.

  • You have a basic understanding of avalanche safety equipment.
  • Most importantly: You enjoy skiing and being outdoors!

Friday
  • 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Collection of rental equipment (if needed)
  • 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Individual arrival and check-in
  • 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM: Welcome, introductions, and tour planning
  • 7:00 PM: Group dinner (we will reserve a table) or dinner on your own
  • Afterwards: Relaxing evening at the Explorer Bar

Saturday
  • 6:30 - 8:15 a.m.: Breakfast at the Explorer Hotel

  • 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.: Ski tour focusing on avalanche transceiver training and ascent assessment
  • 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.: Time for yourselves and relaxation in the sports spa
  • 7:00 p.m.: Group dinner or dinner on your own
  • Afterwards: Relaxing evening at the Explorer Bar

The most important thing is, of course, the desire to experience cool ski tours! Regarding equipment, we've put together a packing list: www.explorer-hotels.com/camps/skitour/#TraminoAnhang428424 which you can follow.

Where can I rent equipment if I don't have my own?

If you don't have your own equipment, you can of course rent some. Book the equipment at the "Ski School GAP": https://skischule-gap.de/skiverleih.html and pick it up there on your arrival day!
What kind of food is provided during the camp?
  • Breakfast is included
  • Packed lunches are included

** We will stop at a restaurant (not included in the price) upon request

  • Dinner is not included and must be arranged independently

** We will reserve a table in Farchant and can eat together
Are there other ski touring camps?

We currently have no other ski touring camps planned. Please check out our general camp page: https://www.explorer-hotels.com/camps/ to make sure you don't miss anything!
Are there minimum participant numbers / will the camp be cancelled if there are too few registrations?

If there are too few participants, the camp will be cancelled or an alternative program will be offered.
As a camp participant, can I also travel with a friend who does not want to attend the camp?
Yes, of course! You'll get a double room, which means you even get the cheaper camp rate! To book, please send us an email or call us.
What is late check-out?

With late check-out, you can use your room until 6 p.m. on your departure day. After the official camp, you can still shower, use the sports spa, or do whatever you want :)
