What do I need to consider when planning my winter tour? What should I absolutely pack in my touring backpack?
How do I read the avalanche report? And what was that about the 3×3 filter method again?
You'll learn this and much more at the Explorer Avalanche Science Refresher with Klaus Kranebitter, experienced ski and mountain guide and founder of xHow and SAAC. After theoretical sessions at the hotel, you'll then head out into the field to put what you've learned into practice.
The camp is suitable for anyone who hasn't yet taken an avalanche safety course, and of course, for those who want to use the camp to refresh their knowledge for the winter.
Important: Please bring your own equipment (airbag, probe, transceiver, and shovel) if you have it. If you don't have it, you are welcome to borrow it.
- Until 4 p.m.: Individual arrival
- 4 p.m.: Welcome and briefing in the Explorer Lounge
- Followed by: First theoretical session
- 6:30 p.m.: Dinner
- 7:30 p.m.: Workshop & expert talk in the Explorer Lounge with a relaxed end to the evening
