Skating
With the skating technique, you don't follow a fixed track; you glide over groomed trails. You also move forward using a skating motion, also known as a skating step. It's roughly comparable to the movements of ice skating.
You need a good sense of balance for this. This cross-country skiing technique requires a little more practice than the classic style.
Classic
In the classic style, you ride in a lane, and the movement is similar to our walking motion. This makes the classic technique easier to learn, and you can cover longer distances in a short time!
By riding in a lane, you have some support to keep your balance.
