Germany's highest mountain
The ascent to the Zugspitze takes about 10 hours, and this tour is truly, truly—in other words, truly challenging! There are six ascent options in total. But of course, there are even more comfortable ways to reach the Zugspitze in Garmisch.
In Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the cog railway starts at the Zugspitze train station. This takes you up to the Zugspitzplatt. There, you can already marvel at the view of the high alpine world. Finally, you take the Glacier Railway up to the viewing platform. Then you return with the Zugspitze cable car to Eibsee train station and finally to Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
