So close to winter sports:
A destination in Oberstdorf that's worth a visit in both good and bad weather: the Oberstdorf World Ski Jumping Arena.
Located at the foot of the Schattenberg in Oberstdorf, you'll find one of the most modern ski jumping facilities in the world. The largest and most famous of the 5 ski jumps is the Schattenbergschanze, with a total height of 140 meters, which is not only used for the Four Hills Tournament at the end of each year. Both the ski jumpers from the Oberstdorf base and international teams train here year-round.
When you visit the Oberstdorf ski jump, you'll follow in the footsteps of the athletes. The inclined elevator takes you to the ski jump tower in 2 minutes, from where you have a fantastic view of Oberstdorf and the surrounding Allgäu Alps. Once back down, you can process your impressions on the terrace of the Erdinger Sportalp and enjoy the view of the ski jumping stadium.
