Discover the Allgäu Sturmannshöhle cave in Obermaiselstein
Ideal for a family outing! The Sturmannshöhle cave near Obermaiselstein is just a few minutes' drive from your accommodation, the Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf. The cave can only be visited as part of a guided tour (approx. 50 minutes) and with a pre-reserved ticket.
Passing 120 million year-old rock formations, not only young speleologists will be amazed on the way to the Dragon Gate or the Cave Basin. 180 well-secured steps take you to the lower level of the Sturmannshöhle cave with its roaring cave stream. The descent is therefore not dangerous, but at a constant 4 degrees Celsius, it is still relatively cool :)
Park your car at the Hirschsprung parking lot and hike to the cave entrance. Alternatively, you can park at the guest house in Obermaiselstein, from where it will take you about 30 minutes to reach the cave.
