Natural Highlight: Starzlach Gorge in Burgberg, Allgäu
This fantastic natural spectacle was not created by humans, but rather resulted from the millennia-long natural development of the Starzlach, which originates between the Grünten and Wertacher Hörnle mountains. The river has carved its way over cliffs and now cascades into numerous waterfalls.
You really can't go wrong on the Starzlach Gorge hike - the trail is excellently signposted. From the parking lot in the Winkel district of Sonthofen, simply follow the signs and you can choose between two circular routes.
You can get the perfect Allgäu snack at the Klammwirt restaurant. At the end of the gorge (before the Starzlach Bridge), you can also hike to the Topfen Alp and the Alpenblick mountain inn (approx. 30-40 minutes). The return route to the Winkel parking lot takes you along the old Erzweg/Nothaldeweg.
Hiking - check, have you already done some biking? Now it's time for more action! How about a canyoning tour through the Starzlachklamm Gorge? "Purelements" from Sonthofen offers a variety of canyoning tours where you can conquer the gorge from the water.
