The highest point of the Silvretta High Alpine Road: the turquoise-blue Silvretta Reservoir!
The Silvretta Reservoir was built in 1938 and has been accessible to the public via the High Alpine Road since 1954. Neighboring reservoirs are the Vermunt and Kops Reservoirs, which are very close by.
Around the reservoirs, you'll find restaurants and alpine huts for a break. And if you'd like to combine your trip with a short hike, you can walk around the reservoir (walking time approx. 2 hours).
On the way to the Silvretta Reservoir, you'll first pass the Vermunt Reservoir and the Obervermuntwerk 1. After about 15 km, you'll reach the highest point of the High Alpine Road, the Bielerhöhe, and the large parking lot at the Silvretta Reservoir.
In winter, you can reach the reservoir via the Vermuntbahn and the tunnel bus.
