Even without ski lifts, the Breitenberg in Pfronten is a true winter paradise ! Instead of ski slopes, you'll find enchanting winter hiking trails, cozy mountain huts, and the longest natural toboggan run in the Allgäu region . The 6 km run winds through snow-covered forests and features a variety of curves as it descends into the Engetal valley. A free toboggan bus then takes you back to the Breitenberg cable car valley station.
Prefer to explore the winter landscape on foot? Then hike from the Hochalpbahn mountain station to the Ostlerhütte in about 45 minutes and enjoy the magnificent views of the Allgäu and Tyrolean mountains. Alternatively, a roughly 30-minute winter hike will take you from the Breitenbergbahn mountain station to the Kesselmoos. The sunny terraces of the mountain huts are perfect for a relaxing break with panoramic mountain views.
Important: Whether the toboggan run and winter hiking trails are open depends on the current snow conditions. Therefore, please check the opening times and current snow conditions on the Breitenbergbahn website before your visit.
