Lake Lünersee lies at an altitude of 1,970 meters and is located at the end of the Brandnertal valley, but belongs to Vandans, a municipality in Vorarlberg.
Families, mountain fans, and nature lovers will find a wide range of activities there. Whether hiking, climbing, or fishing, see for yourself the great climbing routes, the unique hiking panorama, and the turquoise color of the lake.
Lake Lünersee is an ideal starting point for your activities in the Rätikon mountains. The best place to start is at the valley station of the Lünerseebahn in the Brandnertal. The cable car will take you comfortably to the Lünersee dam in just a few minutes.

There are hikes of all levels of difficulty around the mountain lake. Here you're guaranteed to find the right tour for your needs!
How about a tour around the lake with a detour to the Gafalljoch? Up there at the summit, you'll be standing right on the border between Austria and Switzerland. Or would you rather head to the Schesaplana, the highest mountain in the Rätikon?
The circular hike along Lake Lünersee is perfect for the whole family. The six-kilometer-long trail, with a walking time of one and a half to two hours, leads along the shore of the lake and is suitable for children of almost all ages. Along the way, you have the opportunity to stop at the "Alpe Lünersee" and the "Douglass Hütte."
Climbing at Lünersee
Beginner or pro? The Rätikon Mountains in Montafon have suitable via ferratas for every skill level!
In the Brand Climbing Garden, near the valley station, you'll find a small climbing garden with around 20 routes of medium difficulty. Among them is a short but quite challenging practice via ferrata.
Ready for the world-famous extreme classic?Ambitious alpine climbers will get their money's worth on the north face of the Kirchlispitzen! The most famous route, "Silbergeier" (Silver Vulture), is one of the most challenging via ferratas in the world, with a climbing length of 200 meters and a difficulty level of 10+.
