The World Cup Downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The legendary World Cup downhill in Garmisch starts in the Garmisch Classic ski area at Kreuzjoch, right next to the Zugspitze, and leads into the valley with a gradient of 92 percent, almost in free fall. Pretty steep, isn't it?
The pros need about 2 minutes to complete the approximately 3.5km course. You can, of course, take more time :)
Yes, you heard right. You too can whizz down the black Kandahar downhill during your ski holiday in Farchant like the World Cup elite on TV.
The way up to the World Cup downhill
You can go up with the Kreuzeckbahn and the Kandahar Express. Once you reach the top, you can choose between two downhill options thanks to the women's and men's downhill sections.
By the way, the largest alpine winter sports event in Germany is also an absolute highlight for spectators.
