The Leutasch Ghost Gorge in Mittenwald is probably one of the most popular attractions in the Karwendel Alpine World. The large waterfalls, blue pools, and deep gorges delight visitors of all ages. The highlights are the two bridges that cross the gorge - stunning views included!
Tour Description:
This tour starts at the large Isar Bridge on Innsbrucker Straße. You can reach this bridge after about a 5-minute walk from the Dekan-Karl-Platz bus stop towards the south end of town.
If you now follow the forest path along the Leutascher Ache to the entrance of the Leutascher Geisterklamm (gorge kiosk), you will reach the short climb through the forest. After a short while, you can gaze into the depths of the Leutaschklamm.
The gorge walkways lead you even deeper into the gorge until you can cross the gorge at the Höllbrücke. Along the gorge walkways of the Leutaschklamm, there are various information points that offer interesting insights into the history of the gorge.
On the opposite side, a hiking trail leads you to the Gletscherschliff mountain inn (no refreshment available). From here, continue along the forest path, which leads you back to the entrance of the gorge and further into the town center.
