Europe's Longest Flow Country Trail
From the Kaiserburg mountain station at 2,100 m, the 15 km long gravel trail with a maximum gradient of 8% leads down into the valley. At 15.9 km and 970 m of elevation gain, the longest Flow Country Trail in Europe awaits you in Bad Kleinkirchheim! The Flow Country Trail is divided into four sections, two of which have direct connections to the four Nock Lake Trails. Rollers, drops, and occasional banked turns ensure a varied adrenaline ride! And if your stomach starts rumbling, you can refuel at the huts along the route and enjoy the view of the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains.
Numerous detours and banked turns ensure downhill fun on the bike trails, even for advanced riders. At the specially designated rest areas, you can enjoy the view of the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains or refuel at the huts along the route.
At the valley station, you'll find a practice area with a pump track and wash area, as well as a bike rental. There, you can rent the necessary equipment, including helmets, knee pads, and gloves, as well as a suitable bike.
P.S. You can reach the Kaiserburgbahn cable car in 10 minutes from the Explorer Hotel Bad Kleinkirchheim by bike. The cool thing: With the Carinthia Card, you ride for free (bikes cost an additional €12).
What exactly is a flow trail?
A flow trail is a type of trail in mountain biking. A flow trail is characterized by its relatively flat surface. Rough sections, such as root patches or hairpin bends, would hinder the speed of a flow trail. Therefore, flow trails tend to feature numerous uphill curves, enhanced with jump sequences and light wooden elements. Got it? Let's move on.
