If you fancy coffee and cake after your tour, you should definitely check out Café Winklstüberl in Fischbachau . This traditional café is especially known for its wide selection of homemade cakes and tarts – and for portions that you'd better leave some room for beforehand.
The Winklstüberl has been owned by the Mairhofer family since 1950. Besides the cake counter, there's an extensive menu with breakfast, snacks, salads, vegetarian dishes, and hot main courses. So you can stop by for lunch just as easily as for a classic cake break.

You can also simply leave your car behind: During the summer season, the Wendelstein ring line 349 runs directly from Bayrischzell train station to the "Café Winklstüberl" stop. The line operates from the beginning of May to the beginning of November.
And the best part: With your Bayrischzell guest card, you travel for free. The guest card is valid for buses and trains in MVV zones 6 to 9, and therefore also for the Wendelstein ring line.
This makes it easy to incorporate a visit into an active day – for example, first going out into the mountains and then, with a real appetite for cake, going to the Winklstüberl.
