Whether with the whole family or with friends, a toboggan ride is great fun for all ages!
In and around Garmisch-Partenkirchen, there are several toboggan runs that will leave you wanting for anything off-piste!

The toboggan run on the Grasberg is Garmisch's oldest toboggan run and takes you from the St. Martinshütte mountain restaurant back to the valley. The route is suitable for beginners as well as experienced tobogganers.
*Start: St. Martinshütte, ascent on foot approx. 45 minutes from the Bayernhalle in Garmisch

*Elevation gain: 320 m
*Difficulty level: Moderate to difficult
Before you can sled down the slope, you first have to tackle a one-hour climb to the Partnach Alm. 😉 Once you've done that, you can get started!
The descent is challenging and has many confusing turns in places - beginners should therefore be especially careful.
Good to know: Did you know that the Bavarian Horn Sledge Championships take place on this slope every year on January 6th?
Start: Partnachalm, ascent on foot from the Olympic Ski Stadium - steep middle section
Rental: at the Partnach Alm for 5 euros + deposit. Return at the kiosk in the valley
Length: 2 km
Elevation gain: 280 m
Difficulty level: easy (lower section) to difficult (middle section)
The approximately 1 km long groomed toboggan run impresses with its many curves and steep gradient.
Since the descent is separate from the ascent, you can feel free to turn on the turbo and really step on the gas.
But be careful: If you don't want to make unpleasant contact with the barrier, you should brake really well or be able to steer the toboggan well. 😉
Start: From the parking lot at Kainzenbad in Garmisch, it's about a 30-minute walk up to the starting hut.
Length: approx. 1 km
Elevation gain: 180 m
Difficulty level: moderate to difficult (not suitable for families)
The small slope at Ried, next to the ski lift in Farchant, is perfect for families.
There's a small drag lift for skiing. The little ones can easily run up the slope next to the piste and zoom back down again. 😉
Length: approx. 250 meters
