Museum of the Bavarian Kings
How about a little culture for a change? Since its opening in 2011, the Museum of the Bavarian Kings at Alpsee has offered a comprehensive look at the history of the Bavarian royal family in 16 exhibition rooms spread across two floors. The focus is on King Maximilian II and his son Ludwig II.
You can explore this museum in Hohenschwangau on your own or join a public guided tour. These take place every Wednesday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (yes, you'll have to get up a little earlier!) The meeting point is the museum's ticket office.
The Museum of the Bavarian Kings in Hohenschwangau is open daily (except September 30th, Christmas Day, and January 1st). You can buy tickets on-site or easily online.
